What's Brewing at The Coffee House
Hello and welcome to June đź
Itâs hard to believe that itâs now been over a month since the incident. We wanted to keep everyone updated and, as always, share as much positive news as we can. Unfortunately, progress has been frustratingly slow, although we have been incredibly busy behind the scenes even if it doesnât always feel like it, things are steadily moving in the right direction.

Behind the ScenesÂ
Â
Over the past few weeks, we had numerous visits from builders, structural engineers, and insurance representatives. The work has now been split into two stages: Phase 1and Phase 2.
Â
Phase 1 focuses on making the building safe, removing the traffic lights đŚ, and helping Nutley return to normal as soon as possible. The lights remain in place due to ongoing concerns about the buildingâs structure and the risk of falling debris.
Â
Plans have now been drawn up for protective hoarding around the building, along with the long-awaited removal of debris outside. We are currently waiting for insurance approval on plans and quotations before work can begin.
.
As part of this phase, more detailed investigations will take place into the crack in the building, as well as the damage to the basement and its walls. Once complete, weâll have a much clearer picture of whatâs needed for Phase 2 and the rebuilding process.
Â
Meanwhile, behind the scenes⌠đ
Â
The team have been keeping busy in all sorts of ways!
Â
đ Paige managed to sneak away for a few well-deserved days in Cornwall, soaking up some sunshine and enjoying a bit of surfing. Sheâs also been helping prepare the shop for the next stage of works while we remain closed.
Â
đť Ruth has been our website wizard, exploring exciting new features and looking at ways to improve your online experience when we return.
Â
đą Beth has been busy replying to messages, keeping social media ticking over, and researching lots of exciting ideas for the future.
Â
đ Hannah has been deep in daily conversations with insurers, tackling what feels like an endless stream of questions and paperwork. On a much more exciting note, she also completed a 56km Ultra up Snowdon with her brother, battling snow and cold to finish in an incredible 12 hours and 21 minutes! đď¸đââď¸
